Dropping a modern LS engine into your 1968 - 1972 Chevy Chevelle is a very popular upgrade. For this reason, Spectre has engineered an air intake system that is built specifically for your classic muscle car's engine bay and fender area when using an LS engine. Designed for a speed density and or blade style mass air flow sensor, this system can easily be adapted to a round boot-in MAF sensor with additional couplers and clamps. This air intake system places the air filter on the driver side of the engine compartment. It comes with a heat shield which attaches using existing vehicle mounting points. This air intake system includes a red washable, reusable high performance Spectre air filter. Under hood hot air can heat soak the air going into your engine and rob your engine of horsepower. For this reason, Spectre has engineered these universal air intake systems for classic V6/V8 muscle car/pickup models with a GM factory or aftermarket throttle body injection assembly or carburetor with a 5-1/8 inch neck. This air intake system uses a chrome low profile, 14 by 3 inch tall round air filter housing with dual inlets positioned 120 degrees apart and a set of two black flexible air intake ducts. The zinc-plated drop base provides increased hood clearance and requires only a minimum of 2.4 inches above the carburetor/throttle body flange. To help block the hot under hood air the two tubes can be routed to a location that will provide cooler outside air.

This Spectre Chrome Air Cleaner was designed to fit carburetors with 2-5/8 inch or 2-5/16 inch neck sizes. This assembly features a 4 inch by 2 inch flame retardant filter, a triple chrome plated lid, and a zinc-plated flat steel base. Manufactured using high quality materials, this product is engineered for optimum fit and function.

Spectre's Low Profile Air Cleaner Nut is a triple-chrome plated nut designed to offer maximum hood clearance. Only 0.35 inches thick, this part features a unique flush design that adds no extra height, while still offering easy and accessible grip for convenient and effective tightening. With threading that is compatible with the majority of carburetors, this part has been engineered for optimum fit and function.

Spectre's Air Cleaner Riser Kit fits air cleaner and carburetor combinations with 5-1/8 inch diameter necks and was designed to space air cleaners above chokes, linkages, and more. This kit includes 3 riser rings measuring 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 1 inch and can be stacked for increased heights. Manufactured using high quality materials this product is engineered for optimum fit and function.

Spectre's Air Cleaner Mounting Hardware offers show quality fastening for a wide variety of applications. This 5 inch stud is designed to fit 1/4 inch 20 threaded carburetors or throttle bodies, and includes a wing nut. Constructed from high quality steel with a chrome finish, this part can be cut to a shorter length to fit custom applications.

Spectre's Air Duct Hose Filter Adapter allows the attachment of 3 inch duct or intake components to the front of specific Spectre cone filters. This adapter is a universal application and fits all 813x Series, 816x Series and 973x Series filters. Designed and built using high quality materials, the air duct hose filter adapter is engineered for optimum fit and function.

Spectre's Air Duct Hose is designed to attach directly to an airbox inlet, plenum, intake tube or mounting plate with a 3 inch outside diameter to bring cooler air into the engine. Multiple pieces can be threaded together for longer applications, and with a memory-flex design to help retain position, this easy bending hose is versatile and easy to setup. This kit includes 28 inches of ducting and 2 threaded PVC couplers.

Spectre's Air Duct Hose is designed to attach directly to an air box inlet, plenum, intake tube or mounting plate with a 4 inch outside diameter to bring cooler air into the engine. Multiple pieces can be threaded together for longer applications, and with a memory-flex design to help retain position, this easy bending hose is versatile and easy to setup. This kit includes 41 inches of ducting and 2 threaded PVC couplers.

Spectre's Aluminum Air Shield is designed to shield a Spectre air filter from heat resulting in cooler incoming air and more power. This shield was designed to fit Spectre 8131, 8132, 8136 and 8138 cone shaped air filters. Manufactured from high quality polished aluminum the air shield is easy to install under the clamp used to secure the filter to the intake tube.

Spectre's air filter inlet adapters and velocity stacks are designed to allow you to attach a larger 6 inch diameter flange air filter onto a smaller diameter air intake tube. The velocity stacks are available with different neck sizes, to match 2.5 inch to 4.5 inch tubes. In addition, Spectre velocity stacks also have a smooth funnel shaped inlet that reduces restriction and turbulence of incoming air.

Spectre's Air Intake Support Bracket Kit is available for any 4 inch outside diameter intake system. Its universal design allows you to support your intake or filter from an existing engine or fender bolt, while the adjustable bracket allows for infinite angle options. Constructed using polished aluminum, this bracket can be welded or couplers can be used to attach to intake tubes. Spectre also offers a universal intake mounting bracket for use with any Spectre air intake kit or components. Its universal and adjustable design also allows for infinite angles and it can be attached to existing engine or body bolts for secure intake mounting.

Spectre's Valve Cover Spreader Bar Kits are designed to improve the seal between your valve cover and cylinder head. Constructed from high quality heavy gauge steel, the spreader bars help to evenly distribute clamping pressure, preventing leaks. It is 1 inch thick and comes with an open spacer insert and a 4 hole spacer insert to allow you to the option that works best for you. This Spectre carburetor spacer is designed to increase power by raising air/fuel velocity as it enters the intake manifold. This adapter kit includes the needed gaskets and hardware for a fast and easy installation.

Designed to fit the majority of Chevrolet V8 engines, this product is manufactured from high quality triple chrome-plated heavy gauge steel. This OEM replacement also includes a stud, nut and washer to ensure a secure fit and easy installation.

Spectre's clamp-on cone style air filter has a 3 inch inside diameter flange and measures 6 1/2 inches tall. This air filter is a great option for air intake setups that use a 3 inch diameter tube, adapter or throttle body. The air filter includes our red HPR washable air filter media and has been engineered to increase flow for greater performance over a typical paper air filter. This HPR air filter is factory pre-oiled and is ready to use. The air filter does not include a hose clamp, we recommend using part number 8704.
