This is especially true when a CD-5 Carbon or CD-7 Digital Dash and OBDII CAN PNP Adapter Harness are combined with the Vehicle Dynamics Module to add GPS, 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope for track mapping and lap times, and critical vehicle dynamics data including G-loads, roll, pitch and yaw. And for CD Dash owners with CAN OBD-II who are already using the dash and receiving channels from a data logger or other CAN-enabled device, you can now add additional channels through the OBD connection with no additional wiring!

More than just aesthetics though, the backlighting is used to alert you to any potential issues and whether everything is functioning properly to keep you safe. When the contactors are open there is no backlight, and when the pre-charge process begins the backlight turns yellow. The AEM EV PDU-8 is an eight channel Power Distribution Unit expansion device that gives you the power to program and control various switched devices using our ECU/VCUs, like high-voltage contactors, cooling fans, headlights, brake lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, fuel pumps, and more. The ability to connect up to eight PDU-8s (four on AEM Dashes, and one on Infinity ECU's) on the same CAN bus network lets installers mount the individual PDUs closer to the subsystems they are controlling, which simplifies wiring, reduces weight, and increases reliability. This CAN-based solid-state control module eliminates the need to install fuses and relays for the switched functions that it operates. The AEM EV Combined Charging Unit (CCU) combines both an On-Board Charger (OBC) and a DC-DC Converter (DCDC). The OBC charges the HV Battery Pack by taking 120v or 240v AC energy from the grid, converting it to high voltage DC and charging the high voltage battery in the vehicle. The DC-DC converter takes the high voltage from the battery pack and converts it to low voltage to maintain the charge in the vehicles 12V battery. The DC-DC converter performs the duties that the alternator does in an ICE vehicle.
