One of the main drawbacks to a turbocharger is the massive amount of heat that it produces. That heat can severely affect intake air temperatures and rob your engine of power. Additionally, keeping the exhaust gases that spin your turbo hot makes for a more efficient, better spooling turbo. That's why it's so important to insulate the hot side of the turbocharger and keep the heat in. With Mishimoto's 2004.5-2016 Chevrolet/GMC 6.6L Duramax turbo blanket, the heat stays where it's supposed to be and out of your engine bay. Our turbo blankets are constructed with an outer layer of volcanic lava rock and titanium woven fabric. Carbon buildup is an enemy of any motor, and the Mishimoto Direct-Fit Oil Catch Can system for your 2011+ Ford F-150 is the defense. Modern vehicles use a PCV, or “Positive Crankcase Ventilation", system to capture the vapors that escape past the piston rings into the crankcase of your engine and recirculate them back into the intake system to be burned again. While this is much better for the environment, it’s not as great for your engine. In doing so, these vapors carry remnants of oil and unburned fuel, which make their way into your intake system, causing multiple problems. The first and largest problem is that the oil particles being carried in these vapors coat your intake system, including the intake manifold and intake valves. Over time, this will gum up and turn into carbon buildup. Direct-injection engines, like the EcoBoost, are especially prone to severe carbon buildup on the intake valves. The second issue is that those oily vapors being introduced back into the cylinder during combustion can reduce the overall octane rating of the fresh fuel being provided, causing pre-detonation and knocking. This is where the Mishimoto Direct-Fit Oil Catch Can system comes into play. By installing our catch can in line with your PCV system, the 50-micron bronze filter captures those oily particles and allows them to condense until they become heavy enough to drip into the canister to be collected instead of flowing back into your engine. This leaves the air flowing back into your intake system clean and ready to be burned again. The catch can mounts with a sturdy 3-mm thick steel bracket in a convenient and serviceable location, allowing you to easily empty the waste oil. The pre-molded hoses with factory style quick-disconnects make installation a breeze, and even fit with the factory engine cover. The basic requirements for a properly running engine are fuel, air, compression, and spark. Before cranking up the boost in your flat four, it is wise to ensure all maintenance is up to date and these processes are performing as intended. Weak spark from your ignition system can result in misfiring under high load driving, and spark blow-out under high boost, which is bad for performance. Mishimoto is proud to launch our new lineup of ignition coils, aimed at providing a high-quality replacement that can bring your vehicle up to Stage 0 before moving on to horsepower adding modifications. Our ignition coils are designed and tested to meet or exceed OEM Subaru performance standards and are available as a single coil or in sets of four. Once installed with a set of new spark plugs, one can expect a refreshed ignition system with improved engine startup, a smoother idle, and restored performance from your EJ. The primary frame of our coils is constructed from extremely robust phenolic resin, ensuring optimal longevity in high temperature environments. The precision lower boot provides a barrier against moisture entry into the plug well, eliminating chances for spark plug contamination. In addition, our coils are pre-lubricated with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion and ensure an optimal connection between the spark plug and coil. Mishimoto has identified a common failure point in the transmission cooling system of your 2012-2021 Mopar: the thermal bypass valve. This component acts as a thermostat, restricting fluid flow to the external transmission cooler based on temperature. Unfortunately, many vehicle owners have found these factory units are prone to failure, often sticking in the closed position resulting in an overheating transmission. The engineering team at Mishimoto has created a high-quality thermal bypass replacement with numerous additional features to ensure consistent performance and long transmission life. This unit is constructed from durable CNC-machined billet aluminum, featuring a heat sink design that provides improved heat dissipation and unique styling. The included thermostat opens at the stock temperature of 160°F (71°C) but can be customized to suit your needs with any available Mishimoto thermostat.
